Being a regional director can be rewarding and challenging. There is more to the job than just adding fly-ins to the calendar. RD's help members, recruit new members, participate in board meetings, host fly-ins and much more. So, in an effort to recognize top level performance, your BAC Board of Directors has approved and authorized a reward program called, "Regional Director of the Year." Here is the program:

Dave Gribble is the new north central Regional Director. Dave takes over from Candy Gooderum who unfortunately had to resign due to a relocation to another state out of her region. Dave was elected by the BAC board of directors on April 4, 2009.

Back in December of last year, then club president Cloyd Van Hook received an email indicating that the FAA had airworthiness concerns on Beech Models 19, 23, 24 & 24R. The FAA’s concern centered on wing spar corrosion and a perception the FAA held that perhaps there was never sufficient compliance with an access panel installation SI. The lack of compliance with the access panel installation made proper spar inspections impossible.

Your board of directors voted in the most recent board meeting to extend free lifetime BAC memberships to John Elliot and Maurice 'Tex' Donaldson. These two gentlemen are largely responsibile for the baby Beech aircraft design and development and we are excited to have them join us.

The current North Central Regional Director, Candy Gooderum has tendered her resignation. Candy took the bold step in light of the very strong possibility she would be relocating to a new home that is outside the regional boundaries. While a 2% growth may not seem very impressive, our ranks grew inspite of the economy and thus stopped the several month trickle of run-off that we have been experiencing.
