Well it looks like the Weather Gods might be working against us.

Remember this is a rain or shine event and I do not want to eat all the Pulled Pork and Chicken alone.

Keep watching the weather, I am praying that it changes and we have partly cloudy ceilings at 8000msl and no snow or lightning.

But Remember, never fly more than your skills or sub-conscious tell you.

Two days ago they were saying partly cloudy for Indiana and Ohio. Now
they're saying rain, snow and ice. I'm sure they are still throwing
darts at the weather dartboard! Hopefully the forecast will change
tomorrow or Thursday.

I'm 3 hours driving distance from Dayton so I can make it even if my
plane can't. If worst comes to worst I can drive someone else to the
fly-in if they live in the Ft. Wayne/Indianapolis area. If interested,

The drive for us (12 hrs) is a bit much, but we can come in IFR except if there is any dang icing!! The forecast has changed so much in the past 12 hours I'm convinced the only accurate forecast is about 1/2 hour out. Hopefully it'll change again.

all weekend. If this forecast holds IFR won't be an option for me(icing).

Well here we are 3 days away from BAC East.
The Weather Gods are giving us a slight scare, but I believe they will be on our side in the end.

I am heading out now to pick up Mr. Tim Flight and then we are off to Dayton.

I hope to see you all there and making perfect landings in over cast 8000 agl sky's.

I hope not. The Furnace Creek fly-in is on Sunday and so far the weather
looks good. I had to cancel the last fly-in to Sedona AZ because of weather
and I really do not want the same thing this time.

I just talked to FIC and they advise if you are going to Dayton, go today, as there is a warm front coming in from the west tomorrow.

We plan on leaving today around noon (1600Z) and arrive Dayton at 4:00 pm (2000Z) today.

I have Put off the decision as long as I think I can. I am not going to
make it to BAC East. The weather between Wichita and Dayton is too much
for me to try. I will check again in the morning but I don't think it
is going to change enough for this VFR pilot. I thought about flying
Airtran but tickets at this late date are EXPENSIVE out of Wichita. I
will put those $$ back into N132P. I'm going to miss meeting all you.
Maybe another time. Have a great weekend!
