I agree all the way. I own a 1980 Sundowner and love it for all the things that were mentioned. I especially like paying 30K less for what reason I am not sure.

I think people being afraid of something they know
nothing about (handling, parts, mechanics, etc.),
coupled with brand loyalty, makes C & P much more
popular, because so many more were made, and so many
more learned in them, but it certainly does not make
them better in any way. This, however, reflects in
price, which gives us one of the best kept secrets in
aviation. We pay less, but of course, we sell for
less. All this means is we that have less opportunity
costs, because we have less money tied up in the whole
process. Makes sense to me.
