Not sure whether you are asking about replacing an existing one, or are asking about a from-scratch installation. Replacement is usually easier than a new mounting. Make sure you check the old cable before reusing it.
The CI-157, or its clone, is what all our planes came with (cat-whiskers). Some faster planes use "towel bars" or "blades". Some planes have the cat-whiskers faced forward, and others aft. Probably makes little difference to performance, or drag. Here is a link to a thorough description.
