Fly into Grimes Field and join us at Doug and Michele's Airport Café for lunch. Joe Kirby will be our host. Joe says this is a great place to eat. This will be my first time on the field. Arrive by 11:30am EDT.

I hope a lot of people can make it. I called the restaurant and told them to expect us. In addition to the great pies, there are two small museums on the field. One is dedicated to all things aviation lighting related. The other has a nice collection of WWII air corp. items, including a B-17 that is being rebuilt, and a B-25. Each time I have been there, I heard a volunteer talk about the B-17. This volunteer was the chief engineer on Four Jerks and a Yank, a B17 in Jimmy Stewart's squadron.

Looks like third time is going to be a charm. Weather is finally cooperating. I plan to be there between 11:30 and 11:45. At least one other plane coming from 27K.

We finally had great weather for flying this past weekend in the Midwest. Twelve attendees altogether, five members and seven guests were in attendance. We had five member aircraft on the ramp (3)Sierras, (1) Sundowner, and (1) Musketeer. Along with a Piper Arrow III, Cessna 182 and a Cherokee 140 amongst the guest aircraft. Met BAC member John Stratton for the first time. John is based at Greenwood, IN (KHFY). He is only 16nm away from my home base (KMQJ). John was nice enough to bring his mother-in-law Peggy McCracken along for lunch. John flew his ’62 Musketeer.

Pictured are: Doug Allen, John Stratton, Peggy McCracken, Larry and Mary Newland, Brad Mitchell, Adam Kirby, John Redmon, Joe Kirby, and Danny Morrison. Not pictured are Eric Massie and his son Evan.

Thanks for the pictures John. If we could replicate the weather we had that day, we'd be flying somewhere EVERY weekend!
