Back in Arizona there were no Mice fly-in's and in Florida there are no mice fly-in's either. Is it me?
I promise not to attend!
Now can we have a fly-in?
And who organizes those? I am a suggester (suggestor) not an organizer.

I have found over the years that if you are lacking Fly-Ins and want one, you have to take the Bull By The Horns and organize it. It is my experience that it is easy to get opinions on them, but hard to get help. You need a location, a date, a rain date and people to help coordinate. Add food and there is another added expense and work load.

Any member can organize a fly-in. There used to be some parameters if President's Trophy points were to be awarded, but the President's Trophy competition seems to have sunk into obscurity. Nevertheless, Bob is correct. If a member wants a fly-in then said member has to do the organizing. Sadly, it has been the history of BAC over the last ten years that the events are poorly attended for the most part. Still, pick a date, pick a place, put it on the BAC calendar and cross your fingers that the weather is good. Food and activities at the venue are totally optional but can be a draw. Good luck and clear skies!

Okay, here is my idea not fully baked and in fact not in the oven yet. But there is a nice airport (gotta look it up ,, its Creek something...) yes it is Coral Creek right near the beach a really relaxing type of a place very Florida vacationing ambiance laid back thing. The catch is it is a private airport so probably will tell them we all want to buy homes on the property... so they be nice!
Pretty close to the beach drove by a some days ago and flew over it several times. So I think location is proposed; and yes there is greenery so it should be summer compatible. Not sure about the rest or logistics. If there is any interest lets hear some ideas? Since we fly we don't have to worry about directions,, (FA54)
Just checked with Coral Creek, no they take their privacy very seriously. Must be some very wealthy rich boys there.
Gotta look for another place....
500 dollars landing fee and another $50 to the airport manager, sounds like "stay away".

What I do is find a place I want to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner that is located on an airport. Then I post it as a fly in so others can join me. If no one comes I still enjoy it. Sometimes I have had things come up where I could not be there. It’s very informal. I have posted specifically for a BAC event. If the flight is a couple of hours away I take a head count. If no one is interested I determine if I still want to go it alone. If not, I post a cancellation. As the poster I do monitor weather. If the weather is such it may become problematic I cancel the event so I don’t entice anyone to fly into a bad situation. (Yes, It Pilots desegregation but why risk it).
Okay here is a place I know will be happy tp have us come over. KVNC The thing at KVNC is that it is also right next to the beach and there is a great restaurant called Sharky's and it is right smack on the beach. And it ain't called sharky's for nothin' on account that some months ago I asked some kid why is he walking around with a bucket his mom said he is collecting shark teeth.
So there you have it.
And if no one is showing up then I can eat fish tacos sans conversation and looking at the beach.
Now When......?
Not sure yet but soon.
I have a mouse at KVNC. Will shuttle some mice over to Sharkeys.

Landed there w G, a private strip made by a family from St. Louis with vested interests in the Marinas and land on that peninsula.
If you wanna go there you insurance binder must include the airport and add all kind of indemnity clauses to that airport.
So unless you have too much money to spend for parking and handling, there are other close to the beach airports.
Come on over to KPMP, only 1 mile from the beach and good restaurants on the sand.
I was at KVNC this past Friday with a friend picking up his C206 from Sarasota Avionics which has a very nice facility there. I saw the mouse and it looked great. We had commercialed down from Atlanta, and spent 5 or so hours flying back to north Georgia JZP. dodged a few small storms in north Fl, but otherwise a very fun trip. While looking at all the goodies in their shop I got a bad case of the "wants"....
...fly safely...
