    337 For External Power Plug

    Hello,

Has anyone ever prepared an ICA and Form 337 for the installation of a Piper
or Cessna external power receptacle for our planes? Further, did the FAA
approve same? If you have been successful in this effort, please contact me
as I would like to learn from your experience before I seek to obtain a
    similar approval.

    Thank you,

    337 For External Power Plug

I have a Piper External plug ready to be installed. I have shown the plug,
wire and diagrams from the Beech Shop Manual to my PMI. He has told me to
just submit the paperwork (337, ICA) when ever I get ready to install it. He
said to mention that this plug was an option on the Beech but that they are
no longer available and that the Piper plug is a similar part. He did not
believe that would be a problem.

    337 For External Power Plug

I have seen two recent entries on Musketeermail for actual aftermarket plugs
for our recepticle. One is available now for about $75 and the other will be
available shortly for about $65. I don't believe a 337 is needed to use one
of these, but Bob Steward should comment on this. I suspect the 337 to
change out the recepticle will cost much more than this. If anyone needs
more information on the sources, I'll be glad to forward it.

    Thanks,
