If you have rear seat ashtrays, and you are not using them for any other purpose, there is a nice recessed jack box that mounts in the same opening. You can mount it so that the plugs go it from the top or the bottom. The plugs don't stick out toward the cabin, so they are less likely to be damaged. There is also no wire clutter down around the floor.
There are also other angle mount housings that you can install on the surface or recessed into a hole, with the flange covering the edge of the cut-out.
I have not researched these things in a while, but no single vendor has all the different types. You'll need to check online with some avionic shops, Spruce, Chief, etc. before deciding.

My airplane is a A23 build in Dec 1964.* I* think the Sundowners have a different set up in the back seat so that* it may be more feasible to mount the jacks in the arm rest.* I* don't have arm rests in the back.* Garmin was not an option when I* bought my PS several years ago so my selection of PS does not reflect* on Garmin at all.
It was either that or one of the PS* Engineering units. My choice was Garmin so that the entire panel was* from a single manufacturer. I'm sure you would be happy with either.
