    Alternator Belt Part #

I blew the alternator belt yesterday in the Sierra.

Does anyone have a part # and a possible source for a replacement handy?

As usual, I do not have the Parts Manual handy.

    Alternator Belt Part #

8114-1123 or 76157 according to the beech book for sn: MC-2 through
MC-536. You are probably better off getting the belt number from the
engine book. I don't have that one handy, sorry.

An old thread but I have the same question. I need to buy an alternator belt for the Super which has a 200 HP IO-360. It had the Prestolite ALE 8105A alternator. I'm going to replace that with a PMA Plane Power AL12-P70. It is my understanding they use the same belt.

The Beech Parts Catalog calls out two part numbers. One is 76157 and the other is 8114-1123. I can't find these numbers anwhere.

My copy of the Lycoming Parts Catalog calls out 37A19773-376 for almost all IO-360s, including mine. Aircraft Spruce actually sells this belt for $62.

The belt on the plane was marked "Lycoming 76026-5-0328".

Anybody have any idea what is the correct belt?

I found one at a tractor supply house in Illinois at a pretty reasonable price that worked real well for a couple of years. Changed it out because my IA insisted (Such a picky guy! Shouldn't have told him). I wound up with a Cessna p/n that crossed referenced from the 76157 and/or 8114-1123 p/n's. I have just bought another new belt from Aviall. I don't recall the part number, it seems it was different too. I will look tomorrow.

We replaced mine last year, that 37A19773-376 is the number we used. And is what's marked on the belt. That's for an A24R

Dave, This is what I bought from Aircraft Spruce last spring: 08-00249 LYC ALT BELT 37A19773-376 $55.75. Fit perfectly!

BTW, I bought two and "staged" the second one around the crankshaft and secured it to the top of the engine at the hoist. Since you will need to remove the prop to replace the belt, I wanted a backup in place in case I broke a belt while away from home base. Still need to drop the cowl to replace it, but it's better than having to remove the prop too!

Chad & Billy did the same thing for my Sierra last March. Since the prop has to be removed to replace the alternator belt, I now have a spare that is zip tied behind the prop. Neat idea.

The new belt is the 37A19773-376 part number. I didn't find the Cessna part number, but your local Cessna guy can probably cross reference these part number to the Cessna part number. Mine did.

I found the Cessna part number (at least that's what the parts guy told me) for the old alternator belt: P/N S1597-1-37.5

I believe the 37.5 is the circumference in inches..
