Spring Kickoff - Saturday Mar 17th - Western PA

    Hi Folks,

RE: KBFD - Bradford Regional - PA
    Saturday - March 17th @ 11:00

OK - time to blow the cobwebs off those old tin flying machines - for those of you who take the winter off... Let's try something new - at least from my perspective... Several folks have expressed interest in KBFD (Bradford PA)... They are known to have good chow on the field and friendly FBO's... While PA is a "Northeastern State" - it's definately the wild wild west for our New England centric group... It's also adjacent to two other regions - so it's time to get out there and represent... Let's make sure we have some visitors from those adjacent regions as well... Heck - I don't even know what's on the other side of PA - is that MT ??? LOL... So come one - come all - hopefully we'll have some nice weather...

Hope to see some new faces...

Hey - Let's be careful out there...

    Regards,
    Scott

You are brave souls indeed. Anyhow you have to check out the Kinzua Bridge, which is approximately 5 miles to the south east of Bradford. Check it out online. What you see is the direct result of a spring microburst that occurred a number of years ago. Ground zero was about 1/4 mile from the northwest side of the bridge. All of the trees were knocked down away from the epicenter in every direction up and over the ridges. Quite impressive. I took pictures for the CAP right after it happened.

Hey I'm up for it. I won't be getting any points though as my sport is based at KBFD. But I am all for helping out if I can. I will be heading to the airport this week and I will find out the restaurant hours. I know they aren't open but a few hours a day. I might be able to get some ground transport as well.

    Hi Gary,

Sounds good - nothing like have the home field advantage - we could use all the help we can get... If you could confirm that they are open at our planned time - it would be greatly appreciated...
