    Oshkosh 2012

    OSHKOSH 2012!!!

I've never been, planning to go mid-week for the second half. Anybody going this year? I'm planning to get there mid-morning hoping enough departures have created a parking spot for a Musketeer that really wants to be there. Anyone else? Anyone?

Bob, I haven't heard if the BAC is having a gathering there again. Usually it is early in the week...seems like Tuesday. Maybe some of them will stay another day or two and you can meet them. We will get there Thursday evening and stay until Sunday morning. There are certainly many things to do but Saturday has become the highlight for me with the bands playing after supper climaxed by one of the most spectacular and unusal events in aviation... the night time airshow. They mix night time aerobatics with ample amounts of explosions and fireworks. You will enjoy. Unfortunately I will probalby be driving there as I don't anticipate having a medical by then. When we have flown in, we usually tent camp by the plane. There is a tremendous amount of socializing among aviation families that you will enjoy. It isi like belonging to a club. It would be great to get together. Keep us posted.

I haven't heard from Larry Last about the picnic this year. I know he is pretty busy, so I'm not sure if the picnic is a go or not, but we will definitely do something, probably stick with Tuesday as that has been the tradition.....

Hopefully we'll do the picnic again. It doesn't get any better than that!!!!

If I can get the #@$$ away from work I plan to fly in for the whole week. I prefer to drive so I am not held captive by the airport, but my best friend is demanding I take my baby Beech there for her first visit, as OSH is my yearly getaway. Used to fly in for years in my Piper Clipper, at least 10 times, but once I started driving, the whole experience made more sense, less stress, and no getting stuck at OSH for 7 days after show, yes, 7 days, due to weather.

Our party (some drive, some fly, wife's first time) is planning Wednesday arrival and staying the last half of the week.
