How can I fix my cracked outside door handles? They seem to be made of chrome-plated plastic.
Editor:
I have had some limited and temporary success by using the super-fine fiberglass cloth (from a hobby shop) as a reinforcement, with the “super glue”. Epoxies will not bond to the chrome-plated plastic. Some of the clearances are tight, so you are limited on the application of reinforcement material around the perimeter.
If you don’t already use it, the next time you need to try the cyanoacrylate glues, get a small spray bottle of primer-activator-accelerator (also from a local hobby shop). It makes a huge difference in the performance of the glue. The glue the hobby shops sell (which usually matches the accelerator brand) is also much better than the Wal-Mart variety. The accelerator will work with both, though.
