Why do I think that I would be happier with non-tinted windows? I have had green before and my opinion is that it just cuts down on visiblity with minimum effect on glare and heat absorbsion. I will replace my windshield and side windows (C23) at annual in February and I think clear is for me – all around. How mistaken am I?

I’m not crazy about the green tint, but I do like the Solar Gray tint. It isn’t a huge help for the pilot, who will need some other aid (such as sunglasses). However, I do think that it reduces both the total cabin heat load, and the general level of glare for crew and passengers. It improves the effectiveness of both sunglasses and Rosen visors, as well as the effectiveness of the static-cling sunshields. Under some conditions it improves visibility, when the combination of SG tint and sunglasses avoids the need for the view-blocking stock sunvisor. I’m also of the opinion that it modernizes the look of the plane, much as it has done for automobiles.
