Where can I find the interior handles and trim for my Mouse? They look like old VW door handles.

Bill Howard:

I got a pair from Ray Griffin (Hey, RAY!) up in BC that fit perfectly – and I got the VW part # off the back; VW #113837239B as used in the 67-77 Beatle, the part is called a “Cover Plate”. This is the identical part number that is in the Beech parts book for this part. Beech no longer stocks nor offers this part. The aircraft owner is responsible for verifying the quality, applicability, and airworthiness of an “Owner-produced part”. This does not mean that the owner literally has to make it; just that the owner participates to make these assurances. You can read more on this in the BAC Download for Owner Produced Parts. Photos of these parts have been posted in the Door Handles folder in BAC Photos.

Applications for these parts are:
M1413 through M1484, except M1415, M1419, M1423, M1439, and M1447.
MB558 through MB616.
MC151 through MC180.

Here is a supplier:
http://www.bughaus.com/cover.htm
Bughaus’s part # is 113-239B-CM (Chrome) Cover Plate, $19.95/Pair, but they cross reference to the longer number.

This is the same part, but in black rather than chrome:
Bughaus’s part # is 113-239B-BK (Black) Cover Plate, $19.95/Pair

If you look at the part pix – you can see the screw hole that holds this trim tight to the door – BUT there is a little black cover that pops into the hole under the lever to hide the screw. The part number on the “Door Release Finger Plate” is 311837247.

Bughaus’s part # is 311-247-BK, priced $2.95/Pair.

Simple install. Lift up door handle, and then pry off finger plate (these have a long end that slides into the cover plate while the other end snaps in place – pry on the snap end). The Finger Plate will probably break during removal if it’s an original part. With the finger plate out of the way, remove the screw and the trim cover will slide out.
