Jim Geiser:
The Airworthiness Certificate for our airplane is fading fast – ripped, tattered, and generally in poor shape. I’d like to replace the certificate with a new one and wonder if any BAC Members have successfully tackled this one?

Marshal Whatley:
This is actually pretty easy to do; just call your local FSDO. You can look up the one nearest to you:
http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/
The FSDO can fax over a temporary copy while you wait for the real one in the mail. I believe they charge $2.00 for the copy.
