Fly the Devil – 23 Sep 2006: The North Central Region along with Bill Franklin will be hosting our Regional Fly In at Spearfish, SD (KSPF). We will fly a flight plan, this year, to Devils Tower (Centennial Year of the Park.) The flight will be about 45 minute round trip. Black Hills Central Reservation has setup blocks of 5 rooms for us at the Holiday Inn at Spearfish (about 5 minutes) and another block of 15 rooms at the Mineral Palace Hotel in Deadwood (25 minutes.) Call Black Hills Central Reservations at 800-529-0105 for Hotel rooms above. There is a service fee and be sure to get their cancellation policy. My wife and I found a couple of hotels in Deadwood, out of the downtown area. One is the Cedar Wood Inn, with 18 rooms and the other is further out but close to “Gulches of Fun” A good family entertainment attraction. These two hotel could or would not provide a block of rooms but were a good rate in the area and had not groups booked in on the weekend we are going to be their. Quoted rates are below. Please book as early as possible to insure rooms are available.
My wife and I will be in Friday afternoon at 5 PM, I will have a couple of vehicles at the airport but “Enterprise Rental Car” will need to be called direct to rent a car and have it left at Spearfish Airport for pick up, Laura at KSPF (Eagle Aviation 605-642-4112) will help with vehicles if needed.

5:00 PM to Dusk or later – arrive at KSPF and pick up rental car or ride to hotel
Evening – informal dinner/get to gether.

10:00 AM – show at Airport for brief and to go over flight plan,
11:00 AM – 12:00 AM – Launch to fly to Devils Tower and back. Afternoon flight can be done if wanted.
2:00 PM or when needed back to hotels late lunch
8:00 PM – Dinner together somewhere – still negotiating
if wanted- Poker Tournament at the Silverado Casino – 30 t0 50 dollar buy in Texas Holdem.

Depart at leisure from hotel to KSPF and depart for home, My wife and I will leave the Airport about 2 PM to start shuttling cars and plane back to Rapid City.
