RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE BEECH AERO CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS ON NOVEMBER 14, 2017.
ATC Privatization
The 21st Century Act, HR 2997, has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. The purpose of this legislation is to privatize our nation’s Air Traffic Control. It is the opinion of the Beech Aero Club Board of Directors that this would negatively impact general aviation. At the last BACFest in New Bedford, MA on Sep. 23, 2017 a show of hands of those opposing ATC privatization demonstrated an apparent unanimous agreement of those present that this would be bad for general aviation. The Beech Aero Club Board of Directors therefore resolves that this club join over 130 other aviation related organizations in opposing HR 2997. The Board of Directors further encourages our members to contact their members of Congress to express their opposition.
