Website Update & Please Update Your Information
|
I'm putting this on the home page so that everyone sees it. The short version is this afternoon I sent a short email to everyone's current email as we have it with a subject of "BACeech Aero Club Email Validation" (so I had typing issues today :-) ). If you received this email you have nothing to do. If you didn't please go into your profile (Site Menu->Member Info->My Account) and update your email.
On the site migration the test and development is intact and we still fully expect to make a transition Q1 of this year - but we're shooting for sooner. More details on the forum topic... Read more...

We broke a record for the number of total miles flown (58,238.8) and the total number of members with over 1000 miles flown (16)! But, to cut to the chase and announce the winner....

*** New Website and Software Coming ***
|
As those of you who made BACFest and some of the rest of you might have heard through the grapevine…BAC is working on a web site make over. Really more than a makeover – more of a brain transport. There are a number of technical, functional and security issues with the current website code base. The current site was a great starting point but other than some tweaking and all the data and posts we have poured into it hasn’t seen a major rework since the very early days of the club five years ago (which is 4 score and then some in Internet years). The goal of the club and the hard working volunteers of the web site working group are to bring you a new site in Q1 of 2010 – with all of your old data but plenty of new value added. Read more...

Anti-Servo Tab Linkage
|
The Anti-Servo Tab (AKA 'Trim Tab') is connected to the (very strong) actuator cartridge by a rather slim control rod/control link. On the earliest models this rod is straight. On later models, it has a slight bend on the forward end. THIS LINK AND ITS HARDWARE IS A FLIGHT-CRITICAL PART!!!! Read more...
