I have found that radar coverage is one variable.  99% of my XC flights are IFR and many of the paths are shorteneed when I drop altitude.  My wife uses Flight Aware to keep track

Most of these sites use the ASDI feed - see http://www.fly.faa.gov/ASDI/asdi.html - those pull data from the ETMS data stream and I think only cross-center VFR flights show up.

I think the catch might be if your flight following crosses a center boundary - there's a different tool and datbase that is used to coordinate the "electronic" strip handoff.

Ben, I only have one landing light too.  Three times around the pattern with a 4313 ran down my battery (have generator).  Went to the Q4509.  I'm happy with it.

I can get close to 30 gallons in a dry tank.  I suspect the listed fuel capacity is a guaranteed minimum.

Real unusable fuel in 19/23/24 with proper pickup tubes is 3  pints.  TEST IT!  You may have an improper tube mount!

I find a wide variance on the gaging of pumps/trucks. Just another way for FBOs to make money. 10% is 3gal. 20% is 6gal.

TWO NEW AECI PARTS FINALLY AVAILABLE TO BAC MEMBERS!

It has been a three-year project with AECI, involving myself, Bill Manhein, and Kamran Rouhani, but the FAA-PMA approved reinforced 19/23/23-24/24R/76 Nylon yoke shaft bearings-bushings, and the stainless-steel Sierra main gear down-lock springs, are both finally available!

Webmaster and board member Tim Flight has decided to resign his position effective May 18, 2009. Tim indicated that after the website server transition was complete he would be stepping down and though the transition took a tad longer than we thought, it is done and Tim has officially resigned.

Beech Day 2009 looks to be an especially worthwhile event this year....Lots of new changes including at least 4 informative seminars, Static Displays, and more.
Hopefully attendance will qualify for the new FAA "FAAST" program credit.
