Why does my picture appear under someone else's name on the homepage?

The pictures are chosen totally at random, even if it might not appear that way. Each plane photo is associated with the plane's tail number. Since many people are not the sole owner of an aircraft, as is the case of a partnership, it is feasible that there could be multiple members of BAC with the same tail number listed in their profile.

Therefore after a picture is picked at random, the script tries to find a match in the member database for someone who has that tail number in their profile. It can find several matches, and it tries to be random at which member's name is picked so that sometimes one member's name might be displayed while other times another owner's name can be displayed.

We didn't want to delete photos from members who have lapsed since it is just too much to manually track. We also didn't want to try to manually track which dual tail number combinations are sold/new owner situations versus active partnerships. Therefore it is entirely possible that a plane was sold from an old member to a current member yet the photo appears with the old member's name. This is rare, but it is possible.
