We are in open nominations and perhaps this needs a bump (apparently no nominations from the membership, yet). Open nominations until November 30th.

I was in BAC almost one year before I got my plane and after than about 5 months until I was taking on the Secretary Treasurer position. BAC had given me so much in such a short time I wanted to give BAC.

The Secretary Treasurer position, from my perspective (there are others, search the two words and many threads come up), is a busy job, but not so busy that it shouldn't be taken on. We all get busy and the good team that is your Board of Directors is made up of those ready to help (hey, they're working for you) when anyone of the Board or Officers gets swamped with life.

As Secretary of BAC you do the minutes of the Board meetings and the annual meeting at BAC Fest. If you've never done a set of minutes before don't see them as some mysterious thing, they are just summary notes of the meeting and actions taken by the Board. The draft gets sent to the Board members and after any changes, they are adopted at the next meeting when the Board again gets together.

As Treasurer of BAC you keep the money straight. There's member dues and some tool rental fees coming in, some payments going out (website costs, shipping Club tools to members, etc.). When a Fly-in is held and lunch provided by BAC, there's another payment to get out.

BAC has accounts and PayPal, so there's data entry, a monthly balance of things (reconciling a checkbook is about it). In this age of computerization, Quick Books seems to be on many computers so if you already have it, you're ready. If not, it is very easy to grasp, and again, there's plenty of help (including from me even after my term).

Give BAC to BAC, connect with Brad on how you can help in any of the positions, or nominate another member (probably should talk to them first).

Serving BAC, in this position or any of the others, you get to work with a bunch of great people, you meet even more BAC members and develop even more friends. Remember, all for one, one for all.

Congratulations to our BOD members and my sincerest gratitude for your sacrifice and service to our organization and it’s members. May every member be fully aware and remember that your service to our organization is from the heart of a volunteer whose selfless sacrifice is given without monetary reward and sadly, darn little thanks. But I honor and bless your names for what you have done and what you’re doing! Thank you!
