Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQs

How do I get a photo of my plane into the rotation of photos on the home page?

All of the photos on our site come from our members. You must be a member to be eligible to have a photo of your aircraft posted on the home page.

If you are a member, contact us and we can further discuss putting your aircraft on our home page.

How do I post a classified ad?

Any member can post a classified ad. While logged in, browse to the classifieds page. There is a “New” link at the very top of the page, you can use this to create a new classified ad. Write your description or need, add your contact information, attach photos if applicable and click “publish”.

Are there any payment options other than one that uses PayPal?

Yes, you may mail a check in US funds to the US mail address on the Club Contact Info page.

Keep in mind that submitting by check might take a number of days for mailing and once received, volunteer processing. Please submit 10-14 days prior to your expiration date.

Where do I find subscription renewal information? Will I be notified prior to my expiration date?

Approximately 28-30 days before your membership expires a notice will appear in the top right corner of the BAC website under your membership number. It will show you the number of days remaining of your subscription as well as a link (the word renewal) to the renewal area.

You will also receive an email (provided your spam blocker doesn’t grab it) about 28-30 days before your membership expires with the same renewal information contained in it.

If your subscription expires, you will still be able to login to the website, however you will not be able to access any of the ‘Members Only’ sections of the website. If your subscription has expired, you will see renewal information on the top center of the home-page while logged in.

What if I forget to logout of the BAC site? Will I still be able to login from another computer?

The only good reason for ever logging out of the BAC website (in the Member Info menu) is if you are viewing the BAC website on someone else’s computer and you don’t want them to have access to your account. So if you are viewing the BAC website from a public computer, internet cafe, etc you will probably want to log-out when you are done.

Other than that it is fine to stay logged-in to the BAC website all of the time. Clicking the ‘Remember Me’ box when you login will facilitate this. Provided your browser is setup to accept cookies you will stay logged in for about five days. After five days you will be required to login again.

Yes, you can be logged in to the website on more than one computer at a time, however this might make you need to login more than once every five days. There is no need to logout before logging in on a different computer.

Can you give me an easier password to remember? How do I change my password?

You can change your password to whatever you would like! (Almost) After logging into the site, click on ‘My Account’ in the ‘Member Info’ menu. From your personal page click ‘Change your info’. While you are on this page please make sure all of your information is current. At the bottom are two password fields. Type whatever you would like for a new password into those fields (type the same new password twice) and click ‘Save Changes’. So yes, you can have whatever you would like as a password. It must be at least five characters long.

I can't remember my password. Can you send it to me?

The passwords are encrypted when they are stored in the database, so we are unable to retrieve your current password. However you can reset your password. Click the ‘sign in’ link near the top right of the website to reveal the ‘login’ block, there is a link that says ‘Forgot your password?’. Click on this link and carefully follow the instructions to reset your password.

You will enter your username and email address. A security code will be emailed to you. (This validates you are who you say you are and not someone trying to hijack your account.) If you don’t receive an email back then your ISP or your mail client is probably incorrectly blocking the messages as suspected sp@m. Once you receive the security code go back to the ‘Log in Problems?’ page and enter your username, email address, and security code. A new password will be emailed to you. Now you should have access to your account again.

Carefully read any passwords assigned to you. Letters and numbers can often be confusing and they are case sensitive. The differences between 0 and O (zero and “oh”) can sometimes be difficult to read, likewise differentiating between 1 and l (one and “el”) can be difficult. Often using your computer’s ‘Copy’ and ‘Paste’ functions will facilitate you entering your password.

After successfully logging in you may change your password to whatever you like. Instructions are located in the FAQ section of the website.
