    Fuel prices

Just got gas yesterday, curious to see how the rest of the country is
fairing..... Willow Glenn had 100LL for $4.27, thought it was a mistake till
I back into Redding, CA. Fuel from the truck delivered to the hanger was
$4.54, and fuel for normal fly in traffic is $4.95. Wondering if others
are paying these prices yet for 100LL

You know, ever since I began flying, 100LL has averaged about fifty cents per gallon higher than regular unleaded (in the Southeast). Last weekend I was down at my maintenance hangar in KSGJ, where they have both trucked fuel and a self-serve station. I had just filled up my truck at a Gate station on US1, on the way down to the hangar, at a price of $3.09. I drove over to check on the self-serve Avgas, and it was posted at $2.95 (TWO ninety-five). First time in my flying career that 100LL was cheaper than regular unleaded auto fuel.

*** I paid $4.80 at Fresno Air Terminal last week: was told it was going up
    to $5.20 the next day.

Do a google search for "Peak Oil" and see why we better enjoy our toys
while we got'em. Or is it empty doom & gloom? Never mind, that's totally
    off topic.

    I paid $4.28 at HKY (N. Carolina) on 9/5 and 9/10, $4.21 at LZU (GA) on 9/5.
Self-fueling at FDK (MD) where I'm based was $4.02 yesterday, and about
$4.35 from the truck. Haven't checked Rider Jet at HGR where, less than two
weeks ago, self-fueling was at $2.90.

My home base (KBJC) has 100LL for $4.58. I flew a mere 23 miles one way
this morning (9/11) and found it at 48V for $3.15!!!! Yippee - I filled 'er
up ($98.50). Imagine thinking that 3.15 is a great price ?!?!!?

I wait 20 years to finally get an airplane and now I can't afford the damned
fuel! 100 bucks every time I taxi up to a fuel pump. Sheesh!!
    Okay, I'm done ranting.

I'm still here in Gonzales, LA doing relief work. When I called here a
week ago Monday their price was $3.21. They got a partial tanker full on
Tuesday morning and, upon my arrival, the price went up to approximately
$4.05, then they got another tanker full a few days later and it went to
$4.36. A lot of planes are based here because of the relief effort. I
think they have had at least 4 tankers of Jet A delivered to supply the
helicopters and high performance fixed-wings. We have heard that the
Baton Rouge Airport has had 90 tankers of fuel delivered since the
hurricane hit. At 8,000 gals. per tanker that's 720,000 gallons of fuel!
That would keep me supplied for at least a year

    Fuel prices

    Ok, can anybody explain this?

Why is fuel now lower in Mexico than the US????? From what I have been told, all Mexican aviation fuel is refined in the US, and then trucked into Mexico.

The below is from the Baja Bush Pilots forum.

"Left Ensenada yesterday morning. Fuel was $3.08/gal - no receipt or other paperwork. Tiedown - 3 nites - $16.00/nite for a C-206, again, no receipt for the $48.00. Fuel in San Felipe on 9/5 was $3.16/gal. Both of these seem a bargain compared to Calexico at $3.80/gal. Yuma, AZ on 9/5 was $3.15 so who can figure? Long talk with Don J. at Serenidad, he says he's actively pursuing a fuel truck in the San Diego area. Let's all hope!"
