New Lycoming crankshaft AD affects our Beech models

It appears that the new AD (2004-19-11) on Lycoming crankshafts will affect
some of the higher HP Musketeer series.

The O-360 models listed as affected are not installed in the Sundowner, but
the IO-360 models listed ARE installed in the Sierra and Duchess.

Just because your model is listed is no reason to fret. Check the detailed
listing of the dates of production. Those manufactured PRE-99, that have
not had the crank changed, have nothing to worry about.

The official FAA site is here:

    >Bob, I don't believe any of the IO-360's are involved with our planes, only

The SB actually lists Sierra and Duchess models with the LO-360-A1G6D and
the O-360-A1G6D. Since those are Duchess engines, according to the TCDS,
then they may have slipped up on the IO-360s when they included the Sierra
by name and model number. MAY be a misprint, as the C24R takes an IO-360-A16D.

But its listed on the Lycoming SB, so it'd be a good idea to check with
Lycoming if you have a Sierra that has had a new crank installed since 99,
or if its had a Factory Reman or new engine installed since 99.
