    Re Hudson River Corridor

If you are going the first time, I would suggest the following
    things.

1)Make sure you altimeter is working properly and is reasonab;y
    accurate.

    2) Watch out for the helicopters below

    3) Know the self announce points and have pictures of them with you;
Holland Tunnel, the Lady (no pictures needed), the George Washington
Bridge, Governor's Island, 30th Street Heliport, etc. (in no
    specific order).

4)Flight right side of River north, and other side coming back.

    5) Take your handheld

    6) Make sure all of you lights on the plane work.

    7) Make a pre corridor stop before going in to make one final check
of the aircraft because there ain't many options in an emergency.
Also make one last call to check for TFR's.

Have LGA and Newark frequencies on hand.

    Hope this helps

    Re Hudson River Corridor

Everyone has been giving good advice about the Corridor. But, we are loading stress onto some guys who just want to fly up the Hudson River and enjoy the experience. It is NOT as complicated as it is beginning to sound.

If you can fly into the pattern at an uncontrolled airport you can fly through New York City without trouble. All the references to checking the plane first and emergency stuff applies everywhere, not just the Corridor.

Start at one end and fly to the other end. Stay to the right. Talk on the correct frequency. Reporting points are helpful but not manditory.

Watching for TFR's applies to every flight too. Restrictions around Yankees and Giants games... that was good advice.
