    Painting the panel

Has anyone ever painted the upper panel where the avionics gages are?
I think my Sundowner panel is Aluminum but not sure. It is the stock
panel. I believe I could airbrush it easily enough but not sure how to
prep it or what kind of paint to use. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Al

    Painting the panel

I had the panel on my A23 painted with grey Rustoleum
about 10 years ago. I like the look and it has held
up pretty well. The panel is aluminum. Mine had some
kind of material glued to it. I am not sure how they
preped it, I think just sanded it with some fine paper
and spayed it with the spray can. The only problem is
that that when I tried to touch up some scratches with
a brush and paint sprayed out of the same can into the
lid it dryed a darker color for some reason. I am
sure there are more suitable paints than Rustoleum,
    but it made me happy.
