    Panel upgrade surprise??

As an Aircraft structural engineer and designer, I can say that panels are
normally considered "Secondary Structure". Secondary structure means that the
elements in question do NOT carry flight loads...

    Hi all -

Want to see exactly what's so structural about the panel?

Check out these pictures I took:

Pretty easy to see that there is NOTHING structural back there...

    Somebody's getting their leg pulled!

    Panel upgrade surprise??

I'll say. How can Raytheon claim it (the panel) is structural? If
it wer structural it wouldn't have big holes for 1. The floating
panel, 2. the radio stack, and it would also have a lot more than a
    few fasteners.

Someone at Raytheon needs some remedial engineering instruction.
