My special-order MilSpec high-strength stainless steel roll pins just
arrived. They supersede the MS9408-180 and -213 cad-plated pins. I will be
selling them in sets of three, for either the fixed-gear or retract-gear
planes. A set of three will be $10, including shipping within the CONUS, if
you want to have a set on hand for your next donut change. Shipping will
naturally be higher for our overseas BAC members, though I'll be able to use
the less expensive Global Express envelope to most of the places where we
have members. The sets of three are now listed in the BAC Classifieds.
Maybe, if I live long enough, I'll sell enough of these to break even, on
the special-manufacture order I had to place in order to get them. We
certainly shouldn't run out of the pins any time soon.

My replacement pins are the superseding part number MS/NAS/NASD 171604
(-180) and 171636 (-213); the cad-plated steel pins are no longer being
made. These replacement pins are made from stainless steel. It is the
MilSpec stainless steel, not the softer Grade 4 hardware store variety. As
with MilSpec corrosion-resistant steel (stainless steel) structural aircraft
hardware, these high-strength stainless steel pins are made from a much
stronger and slightly magnetic stainless steel alloy. You can contact me
via rellihan at rellihan dot com. I am spelling it out for SPAM reduction
