alternator concerns - flickering dash lights/bouncim amp met

I want to say up front the brushes in my a;ternator were replaced at
engine overhaul I just installed a new Gill battery . The situation is
that when using the landiong light or pitot heat I get a small bouncing
motion on the am meter which stays located on the center of the
ammetertr and see a flickering inb the Attitude gyro panel light . I
checked the voltage of the cigarette light receptacle under load ( all
lights ,( position, landing ,sbelly strobe and tail strobe), txpdr and
pitot heat and the alternator /generator is putting out 13.4 volts
(under load) and about 13.10 with less load . Does it sound like Those
specs are acceptable ? Do these birds have an external voltage
regulator and are they adjustable ? thanks all Chas

No, the normal voltage range is 13.8V - 14.2V for a "12V" system.

The Voltage Regulator is responsible for "turning on" the alternator and
maintaining a normal voltage that keeps the battery charged.

It can be fooled by bad grounds and other wiring faults, but in most cases
where the voltage is not up to the minimum system voltage, its the Regulator.
