    Flying hint

I overheard a great flying hint recently. I was having breakfast at the local fly-in restaurant destinaion when a pilot at the table next to me announced that he was going out to his plane to make sure that the master switch was off. When he returned, the guy he was sitting with told him that he never turned off his strobes. That way he never got too far from the plane when he left the switch hot.

    Flying hint

I do the same with my Rotating beacon (don't have strobes). I leave the sw
on and it does 2 things.
One: Notifies all around that there MAY be someone in the plane and it may
    start soon.
Two: Lets ground personnel (even me) know the master is still on.

    Flying hint

I have left the rotating beacon and/or strobe switch
on for three decades+, and since, have never
    accidently left the master on.
