    Idle problem IO-346

    I recently had the engine quit on landing flare. It had never done
    this before. It started again immediately but would not idle under
    1200 rpm's. My mechanic has rebuilt the fuel pump (needed it), cleaned
    the injectors, rebuilt the air throttle valve (it was a mess), and
    checked out the fuel distributor. He also pressurized the induction
    system and found nothing wrong. He thought rebuilding the air throttle
    valve would fix the problem but it hasn't. It runs great (actually
    better) above 1200 rpm but still will not idle.

    Any ideas?

    Idle problem IO-346

    Here's an idea: Maybe it is ignition rather than fuel. Maybe the mags
    are weak or you have a bad impulse coupling.
