No significant weather all the way from SC, though it was IFR from Kentucky onward; mostly between fairly thin layers. Nothing more that scattered light rain; most of it so light you couldn't even hear it on the windshield. 45F at 8,000'; no ice anywhere around. Never saw a significant cell, and never saw nor heard lightning (no avionics crackles).

The only close item was the approach to minimums on the Loc20 approach; it weawwy weawwy was a 400 foot ceiling. Always nice to see that runway materialize a mile or so out. The ceiling has lifted significantly since 1PM local time. Certainly won't be VFR around here, though.

Aaaaaaannndddddd... there should be a BAC Southern Region banner on the FBO fence, next to the NE banner, by the time I get back to the airport....

Now, where's that dern pulled pork, Corcoran?

Subject: I AM IN DAYTON - Na na na na!!

Tom Corcoran and Margie from Braintree, Massachusetts made it to Dayton Wright Brothers. The BAC banner (Northeast) is flying high next to the Commander hangar. Sundowner N5162M was the number one plane as of 5:00 Thursday evening when we were last at KMGY. We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon at the airfield or at the Wellesley Inn. Our room is 207.

That is the good news.

The real news is... we got here IFR Thursday afternoon with a gentle localizer/circling approach. No one else was there or at the hotel. We did not sleep at the hotel because friends let us eat and drink free at their home near Cincinnati where I am now at 9:17am.

But the real news is weather. Absolute piece-of-shit crap. Cold, Thunderstorms. Snow. Rain. Wind and more of the same forecast for next several days.

I will check at the airport and hotel later. Let's leave messages for each other at the hotel desk and at the Commander FBO and/or MM. Good thing I like pulled pork.

Tom Corcoran
