    Start Problem

Tried to start the A23 yesterday but no go. She is run frequently and
I had just charged the battery. Lately, the prop turns very slowly
(almost grinding like) before starting. Yesterday the prop would not
move at all or very slowly. Also, when I tried to turn it myself, it
would not turn at all and would not have that "springy" prop feel to
it. It almost feels as though it is seized.

    Any suggestions

Continentals have internal starter drives. These are famous (infamous?) in
their failures. Usually in cracked housings and bad over-run clutches, not
    seized drives.

I think the quick troubleshooting check is to pull the starter and see if
it will turn. If yes, you have some sort of starter/drive failure. If no,
then you have more severe engine problems.

One possible engine problem would be hyrdo-lock from filling a cylinder
full of fuel. No chance the boost pump could have been accidently left on
(draining your battery?) and when you tried to start it the piston came up
against a head of fuel that is non-compressible?

Pull all the top plugs and see if the prop rotates by hand. Be sure to do
this OUTSIDE incase you spill a lot of fuel. You don't want the fire
hazard of a quart of fuel evaporating in a confined space like a T-hangar.
