    fluctuating amp gauge

I had a generator failure on my Musketeer 23, M235. I replaced it with a rebuilt generator from Aircraft Spruce. My amp gauge now reads dicharge up to about 1800rpm and then above that it occilates rapidly between 0 to 1/2 gauge charge side. It never occilated with the old generator and it would also show a steady 1/4 gauge charge at 1500 rpm per POH.
Any Ideas on the current problem?

Do a BAC search on 'voltage regulator', and read the first FAQ. There are a number of other related FAQs and Forum posts, with additional info.

Probably ate the voltage regulator. Sometimes one failed component will
    hurt the other.
