I have the 300XL TSO installed in my '76 Sundowner. I had it installed by Howard Aviation in La Verne, CA (Brackett Airport). They did all the FAA paperwork. I use it for IFR enroute and non-precision terminal (approach) navigation. It has a moving map, is monochrome and relatively easy to use. The difference between the 155 and the 300 is the moving map, I believe.

Subject: [musketeermail] Garmin 155XL TSO

Folks,

Does anyone have any experiences to share about the Garmin 155XL? I'm
considering one for IFR use in my Sierra. Don't ask, I can't do the
430 or better right now. I'm interested in someone who has one
installed, uses it for IFR enroute and approaches, and can talk to
it's ease of use. I'm also interested in what you went through with
the FSDO to get it IFR certified in a mouse. I understand there needs
to be a test flight, etc.

Thank you much!
