Carl,

I followed your attempted install, but don't recall mention of
attempting a shorter filter. Might that've helped?

Also, I'm quite sure that the install involved a filter mounted,
straight off the back of the engine, or at 180 deg that did not work.

Shortly afterwards, saw a filter by Casper (on ebay) that mounts on a
45 deg upwards (filter facing down) but didn't check it out. Even if
not available by Casper, is available by others.

Just asking & to confirm, I don't think that your install involved
this filter adapter, that mounts off the back of the engine, & takes a
90 deg turn upward, rather than straight back to the firewall, or 180
deg.?
