    BAF Fly-In

    The BAC/MM Northeast Fly-In is a go!
I will repeat this message in more detail on BAC also.

Unless there is a major change in the weather (THAT couldn't happen,
could it?) we will hold the event in Westfield, MA.

As best I can see, the rain showers and clouds will hold until
Saturday afternoon, late. So what do I know? It's a decent guess.

If there IS a major switcheroo in actual conditions, I will post any
cancellation on both MM and BAC. But as it looks now, we are in
business. The only restrictiions would be those you place on
    yourselves.
If you are on the list but find yourself trapped by the fates and
cannot make it, would you email me early or even call my cell
(413-531-193. Cuz I am a worrying sort. (I'm even PAID to think in
    "worst case scenarios")

So, in the words of the Watch Commander from Hill Street Blues:
"Hey, hey! Let's be careful out there."

    See you at BAF
    Steve Cote

And to you too, Oz. All our Regions have had some bad luck with
weather. It is only partly cloudy with good vis here now. Was forecast
to be raining now. I don't know whether this is a good sign or a bad.
I wonder if we overplay the competition between Regions (it was kinda
funny in Dayton; I think some folks were nervous about you and Tom
meeting for the first time). But if there was any doubt about the easy
fellowship of pilots, in general, and Musketeer afficionados, in
particular, they were dispelled there. We had a hell of a good time,
    didn't we?
Take pictures at Falcon and I'll send some of ours.
    Keep up the good work,
    Steve

    BAF Fly-IN

Thanks much to Steve Cote for putting on the fly-in at BAF, we all had a
great time, the hospitality super and again it's good to meet even more
faces of the MM/BAC crowd! I'd look forward to seeing any pictures anyone
has if they can send them to me?

I apologize for leaving Steve, Tom and others to do the clean-up although I
am glad we left when we did. Not very far west of Albany we had freezing
rain, rain, mist and accompanying low ceilings all the way up into Ontario
with one section up here nearly turning us around.

I think now the big question is with Steve serving us lobster and prime rib
in Massachusetts, what will Tom be serving us in PEI?

    BAF Fly-IN

    Hi Ed,
Glad you had a good time. Even gladder (is that a word?) you got back
safely. I was sweatin' just watching the radar.

Tim already posted some pix on the site. I will be posting more this
afternoon. You can pluck them off there. If you see a special one and
have trouble lifting them from BAC, let me know and I will zap it too you.

No problem with the clean up, Tom bolted shortly after you! (I released
everyone from the chore. It was my pleasure; and I cooked some more
burgers for those cute girls at Five Star. What a dirty old man!) The
open chips and the brownies went to a large Girl Scout contingent who
were getting rides from the Five Star flight staff.

This is the first time I have see where everyone departed en' mass. It
was quite a hoot! Kevin, my partner, even fired up to join the parade.
You had probably switched to Bradley Departure by then, but the Tower
guy proceeded to refer to the next couple aircraft departing as "Beech
XXXX". That Piper and that Cessna were quite indignant but Dave told
them that if they wanted to leave BAF right then they had to be Beeches!
I talked to the Tower Chief later and he thought it was the nicest mass
take off since he left the Air Force.

Cuisine at PEI? I believe Tom was talking about some fine local
    dishes...salt cod and potatoes...wasn't he?

    Hope to see you there,
    Steve

    BAF Fly-IN

    Steve Cote,

You didn't have to rat me out! Everyone thought I stayed for clean up at BAF.

Nice job Bro'. Everything went well. Let's see if we can show everyone that organizing a fly-in is a little work and a lot of pleasure.

Got a call this morning from A Sierra driver (let's call him Ken from Chester CT so no one knows who he really is) who wanted to know if the BAF fly-in was still on for TODAY. I had to break the news that he was 24 hours too late. I rubbed it in by telling him that he missed seeing Ed Fitchett and Bob Palmera's superb award winning Sierras. Both those planes are worth a trip from anywhere to look at.

Have you communicated with what's-his-name from the Southeast Region yet about the airplane count?

    Tom Corcoran
