    Lexington, Nebraska

    Hi All,

I'm planning another Denver to Des Moines trip (530 NM), leaving early
Thursday morning. The perfect gas stop (distance) for me would be
Lexington, NE. Has anyone ever been there? All I need is fuel. The
directory says they have it but last fall I stopped at Cozad, NE, which also
advertised fuel, and only by a lucky coincidence was able to get it there.
That's why I'm asking. So any personal knowledge or info on LXN would be
    appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi Rick,
I would suggest you check http://www.airnav.com/ for up to date information
on fuel stops along your route. For example you could save 31 cents a gallon
by refueling at Holdridge, NE (KHDE) rather than Lexington. You can also
get cheap fuel at Y76 at Des Moines. BTW, I routinely fly to Minneapolis non
stop from Denver with good fuel reserve (takes a little help from the wind).
Coming back, I usually stop at Kearny because of the good restaurent on the
    field.

    HI David,
Indeed it does, but usually I fly at either 9500 or 11500 and pick up great
tailwinds. Seems a shame to get that high and then go down again. Enroute
times usually run 4 1/2 to 5 hours.

    John,

That fuel price at Holdridge on AirNav is a year old! the Y76 price is
    nearly 3 years old!
The Lexington price of 2.95 is pretty decent right now (and current).

I emailed the address on AirNav for Lexington and had an email response from
Nathan Cook waiting for me this morning. They typically open at 8AM and I
plan to be there by 7:30. He said they'd be ready for me when I got there.
Nice service. I'll give them a try.

    Hi Rick,
Oops, I looked at the month, but not the year! Did use Airnav for a trip I
made a couple of weeks ago to the Ozarks. Found fuel for $2.52 in
Burlington, KS which was right along my route.
Hope you have a safe and pleasant trip.
