Just got my free 32oz bottle of Extreme Simple Green Aviation in the mail.

Hi Kerry -

This 'Aviation' version must be a new product...The old Simple Green was death on
airplanes.

Last time this came up, Bob Steward chimed in with the info below - I got it from
the MM Archives...

BTW - the Mr. Clean Eraser pads - tried one with just water on my old tired paint
- I believe if I kept up with it, I'd have one of those bare metal polished
planes! YIKES!

We've gone over this before and several threads are in the archives.

All of those "Simple Green" or "Purple Stuff", type cleaner/degreasers are
ALKALINE CORROSIVES and should not be used on aluminum aircraft. Even when you
plan to wash it off with water there are rivets and skin laps where the cleaner
can creep into the joint and not be washed away.

My soap of choice is dishwashing liquid. Usually one of the cheap brands like
Dawn. Even diluted it cuts the oil and grease on the belly. And it rinses clean.

Please avoid the squirt bottle cleaners with a color in their name. I've yet to
see one that was not corrosive to aluminum.
