Subject: [musketeermail] Nose Wheel Shimmy

On Saturday, while landing on a very rough broken paved runway, I experienced
some nose wheel shimmy until my speed was below 40 mph. My next landing on a
smooth runway was fine.

In BAC it mentions something about shims in the nose gear to eliminate excessive
play in the nose wheel but it is not very clear exactly where the shims go and
how hard it is to replace. Is there a need to replace the damper on the nose
gear? Any comments from anyone that has had experience with this would be
appreciated.

Thanks,

Don
