    Whose Wing Tips?

From the time I first laid eyes on my Sundowner, I thought the wingtips
were a bit rough around the edges. At this year's annual, I plan on pulling
the wingtips to check the wing spar for corrosion. Last year, my A&P
suggested that they were due for replacement, and I agreed. The big
    question is: Which ones?

There was a recent post about Met-Co-Aire tips for $466 per pair. I was
planning on ordering them from Globe for $600 per pair. In many cases the
"you get what you pay for" rule applies, but both products are FAA PMA
approved. Has anyone had a positive or negative experience with either
part? If so, please share your experience. You can contact me directly to
    reduce the MM mail volume.

    Whose Wing Tips?

I am looking into tips as well so I, too, would appreciate hearing any
comments the list has to offer.

    Whose Wing Tips?

I purchased new ones from Globe Fiberglass. That's the best part, there
Fiberglass and not plastic. Easier to fix cracks and damage to fiberglass
then plastic. It took about 11 days from the time I placed the order until I
received the new tips. They look great and fit well. See my pictures in the
    photo section.

    Whose Wing Tips?

If you can find any of the Demer tips, they offer significant reduction in
stall speed and low speed handling.

    Whose Wing Tips?

I had the Demer tips on my sundowner for years, and
always thought Ace did a great job with the design.
My stall speed was significantly lower, and the low
speed handling was greatly improved. I also had a lot
of favorable comments on the appearance. I think it
did improve cruise, but not much.
