    Sierra Article in AOPA

..Now that Mike Rellihan's famous, will he still associate with us hoi polloi?
    .
That was a nice article. But whoever said the gear retraction was ungainly
obviously never saw a retractible Cessna....

RIGHT ON JEROME!!! I'm now trying to design a scale model Cessna gear for a customer. What a nightmare! The Sierra is a snap. By the way, I recently spoke to a guy at the Lantana Airport Paint shop who was picking up his plane, a 4-place, rather large, FW (can't remember the mod no.) who said it was 86 of 89 ever built. When he took off, at about 15 feet, up went the gear, OUTWARD! It was quite a bird! Lee Robinson W.P.B.

Wellll... Paul Werbin and his Sierra are still with us, so you can't get shut of me that easily.

Al Marsh expressed his opinion of the gear retraction process. As you say with the Cessna high-wings, at least it isn't so bad that you have to disconnect and remove the gear doors. Or maybe that's why we didn't have any to start with, on the Sierras....
