This past week we installed the microaero vortex generators on my '66 A23A with IO-346. Made three flights the past three days and can tell everyone that they make a terrific difference. At cruise, I can see no loss of speed, if there is some, it is negligible. However, at cruise, the controls are much more responsive. At slow speed, it is almost impossible to stall. the nose sort of "mushes" and falls a little, and suddenly your flying again....with almost no pilot input. Landings are much slower and takeoffs are faster. The learning curve seems to be the tendency to float more in ground effect. I'm on the Oregon Coast and we have winds all the time. These vortex generators are worthwhile if for no other reason then the control they give on cross wind landings. this is the best $1400 I've spent in a long time.
