Hi Chris,

Ours is an A23-24 with the 200 hp, but there is another Musketeer based at
FTG (Denver) that has the 165 hp engine. He seems to do ok as a two place
aircraft. You sure would not want to load it to gross and try a take off on
a hot day!

John

Subject: [musketeermail] High-Altitude Airport Operations in Mouse

Hello,

I'm selling my 1963 Musketeer to a buyer at a high-altitude airport
(6500 feet MSL). I have advised him of my concerns about high-
altitude operations, but he has consulted his CFI, and feels that
this is really the airplane he wants.

I am a CFI, and am familiar with high-altitude airport operations
and considerations. But I wanted to find out if any mouse owners
here operated routinely out of high-altitude airports, and had any
specific tips for maximizing performance of a 160-HP Musketeer. I
know with proper procedures and cautions regarding density altitude,
it can be operated safely out of an airport like this (it does have
an 8000 foot runway), but if there is anything I can pass along to
my buyer, I'd like to.

So...anybody fly their mouse out of an airport like this?

Thanks,

Chris
