Yeah - it would be pretty cool to have one huge turnout - as it seems that the number of people attending actual BAC events has been declining in recent years... Club Officers - would it be possible to send an email to our entire membership notifying them of this event and promoting it as kind of a big deal - maybe make up a flyer ??? I think only a small prortion of our membership actually visit the forums on a regular basis... I might have to take some time off and sping for 160 gallons of AvGas for this - weather permitting...

It has been discussed before, but with 10 or more planes and proof of insurance, we can also do a fly in to fantasy of flight. Would make a great side trip as it is only about 1 hour by air. Could be a 2 for 1

    James,

That is a definite possibility. That is a great suggestion. Did you attend in 2005? We have a lot of options, and looking for more suggestions. We want everyone to have a great experience.

    Thank you,
    Dave

Well, it's official! It's now a BAC event listed on the "calendar". James, you are right. The fantasy flight would Be a great addition to this event. Maybe the two together would draw enough interest to make it happen. I'll be sending regional emails out all fall for BAC Fest and this fly in.

    Dave,

Did not even take my first lesson until October 2008. Got my ticket 09/09/09 (easy to remember). So obvious answer is no to 2005. Been a pilot my whole life, just never learned to fly until a few years ago. Even if separate from your St. Augustine trip, we need to do fantasy of flight as a SE region fly in. Maybe a $10 fee,but includes entry, lunch, etc. Kermit's only requirement is proof of insurance. It would be a heck of a fly in! I know Kermit, and could probably get Joe Kittinger to be there too, as he was a former client of my dad and friend of the family to talk about the new idiot trying to break his high altitude jump record. Could be fun for all.

    James,

After very little thought, I think we should do it on Saturday morning. After much arm twisting, shouting, and abuse, my wife "volunteered" to lead a group to Premier Outlets of St. Augustine or
the beach. With your connections and assistance, it should be a breeze. Following that with guest speaker, dinner, and night tour of St. Augustine, we should be solid for Saturday. We can add more
for Sunday, other than breakfast, if anyone is interested.

I checked with fantasy of flight a while ago, their requirements are 10 planes or more, proof of insurance and a signed form release from each pilot and that may be it. Grass field, but hard as a rock with limestone base. There is really not too much to it , just requires 10 plane commitment. The best thing is that Kermit Weeks is generally in florida in the winter,so who knows what will get flown that day. Also, they give us the "officers club" for lunch. We need to do this whether as part of this trip or not. Flight time would be about 1 hour one way.

    James,

I think we should do it as part of this trip. It is definitely a win-win as I see it. Maybe Ed will make both trips an event. Is that possible, ED ???? One thing for sure, on this weekend, no one will be hungry.
