The long range weather forecast shows that we may not have a banner day but the fly-in will NOT be cancelled. Inthis area we have seen many days of predicated bad weather that turned out to be good days. Our schedule is coffee and ... till about 11 then a tour of G&N's engine shop with a discussion of some of the best ways to wreck a motor (based on thier experience of seeing many engines in for rebuild) BBQ lunch, A presentation by Dave Snodgrass about the Alaska trip. Due to airplane issues Dave is driving in and if the weather is bad he may elect to not make the trip. To check local conditions you can call Gary's ATIS @ 219-944-0010. Gary is located about 10 miles north of Griffith. Porter County (about 15 miles east) ASOS is 219-531-1770. Or you can call the Airport directly at 219-924-0207 for current conditions. For those of you coming from the east it is rumored that Stark county Airport (OXI) has the lowest fuel prices in the country. There will be a fuel discount for Fly in
    participants at Griffith.
If all goes well we expect about 12 -14 planes Saturday. Hope you can make it

    Ron,

A slight misunderstnding. I will be there rain or shine unless the
fly-in is cancelled. I'll make the presentation even if I have to make
    it to myself

Well, it is raining here (southern Ontario) and thunderstorms and low
ceilings are forecast through Saturday, so unfortunately we have to cancel
our plans to go to Griffith, In. I was really looking forward to David's
presentation and the Chicago fly-over. Maybe Oshkosh on Sept. 10 will work
    out.
