John, I have a 66 sport, and it holds its own pretty
will against a fully loaded (maybe a little
overloaded) Sierra here on our field. Newer isn't
always better especially when everything you are
comparing (new or old) is antiques anyway. Beech
seemed to 'improve' the line toward extinction
(slower, heavier and there for less effecient). I'm
sure that this pleased their lawyers and such. The
only improvements to the plane in later modles is more
interior room and perhaps better avionics. The 1978
mustang II is newer than my 1967 Mustang coupe, but I
wouldn't ever call it better... (I'd just call it a
glorified pinto).
