Thread: Waiver of liability

    Waiver of liability

I'm not a lawyer. I have been advised by lawyers that these agreements are worthless, other than their value as an injury waiver by the signing individual. They have no power to constrain the rights of family members or the estate, to sue in the event of severe injury or death of the signing party. The statement made to me was that no one can sign away the rights of someone else to sue for a harm that affects them.

Wondering if anyone has drawn up a waiver letter of liability, when I
volunteered for AirLifeLine we had a form to release liability from the
patients while transporting them, I was wondering if we can have a waiver in
the event while carrying passengers and we don't make it back to the airport
that with a form signed by the passengers saying that they are flying at
their own risk and hold all parties harmless. Flying clients and resulting
in an accident could be costly for our spouses as well as the company we
    work for.

I would imagine even if we have a waiver signed an attorney can turn it
    around.......

    Appreciate all those who reply.

    Waiver of liability

The liability you are concerned about is best handled by securing
    adequate insurance.
