What is the best way to attach things like new yoke emblems, aircraft model name emblems, etc?

Editor:

Do NOT use cement or glue. Most of them will attack the plastic part, and may deface it from the back if the part is not opaque. Beech used dabs of structural cement, because it was readily available on the shop floor. But it is serious overkill for the need, and can make an old emblem murder to remove. You have to get all of the old adhesive removed, so that the new emblem or plate will properly lie flat. A Dremel tool works well for getting the old epoxy removed from the yoke.

My preferred method is to go to an autobody supply store, and buy some of the 3M double-sided mounting tape. This is the good stuff, used to attach exterior molding and trim to cars. Don’t fool with the junk mounting tape available from places like Wal-Mart.
