SAFETY INFO to FLY OVER the BOSTON MARATHON HERE

Mark Patachiola, Airboss of Massachusetts, announces a unique BAC event for Monday April 18, 2011.

Fly over 25,000+ participants who will be running from Hopkinton MA to Boston in the annual BAA Marathon. (See the photo of the athlete’s village staging area below.)

The plan is to fly over and watch the start, fly down the first half of the course, then land at Norwood (KOWD) and jump in a van to go to the halfway point in Wellesley to see the runners actually pass in front of us. Pretty cool. (It takes about an hour for the runners to get halfway.)

If you want land at 1B9 Mansfield Municipal first and depart for Hopkinton as a group at 8:30am.

The actual FAA safety power point presentation to BAC (and others) is at http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/bos/local_more/media/Boston%20Marathon.pps
