We have turned on support on the forums for Tapatalk.
Tapatalk is a forum app on the iPhone, Android, webOS, Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry. Tapatalk Forum App provides super fast on-the-go forum access to majority of the discussion forums that has activated the Tapatalk plugin including our site.
We looked at a number of mobile forum options. We will have the mobile theme with the coming 4.1.4 update – but we also wanted to offer a more dedicated app based experience. The vBulletin mobile app would have cost the club a non-trivial recurring fee per-year. Tapatalk costs the users $3 once in the appropriate AppStore – that $3 is good for all Tapatalk sites. The club does not get a cut on that. Tapatalk was chosen because it was the easiest to deploy and didn’t not involve routing site access through seperate servers. Tapatalks vBulletin integration use the standard vBulletin security hooks – so the security is no worse than the base forum software itself.
We are also looking at Forum Runner and if people have experience with that and would like support for it we can turn that up as well.
